Firetec offered a pre-engineered, fixed pipe, automatic wet agent fire suppression system for the kitchen exhaust hood(s) and plenum(s), and cooking appliances that require fire protection.
The wet chemical extinguishing agent is a potassium carbonate based solution which it will discharge as fine droplet agents into the protected area. The agents extinguishes the fire by the cooling effect caused by the heat of vaporization. The fine spray discharge prevents the dangerous splash of hot grease or thermal shock that possibility damage the cooking appliances. i.e. It is a process in which the wet chemical agent combines with the grease to form a soapy layer at the surface of grease to seal off the fuel from the oxygen, allowing the grease to cool to below it’s auto-ignition temperature.
Thus, the prevention of re-ignition makes the wet chemical system an ideal solution.
